For four decades, The Beach Boys, originally comprised of the three Wilson brothers: Brian, Carl and Dennis, their cousin Mike Love, and Hawthorne, California neighbor Al Jardine, have recorded and performed the music that has become the world's favorite soundtrack to summer. In 1965, Bruce Johnston joined the band when Brian Wilson retired from touring. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 and winners of NARAS' Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, The Beach Boys are an American institution that is iconic around the world. How many songs make you feel really good things, even if you enjoy the songs unto themselves? I can't speak for anyone else, but many of the Beach Boys' songs do that for me. And I would bet that many of you feel the same way.

he's had them pretty much all his life, but it really manifested itself in the early 70's. He's much better than he was - in the 80's he was drugged up to the gills. very sad :( i think the diagnosis is mild bipolar disorder, but don't quote me on that. You need to pick up a book on the band, you won't look at them the same way again....
