I bought a pair of drive-in movie speakers with a junction box. I added a base and a 2" pole to hold them. While I was connecting the 24v bulb and testing the speakers, I decided it would be nice if I could have sound come from the speakers. I downloaded several drive-in commericals from YouTube that I remembered as a kid. Then I edited them down to just a couple of minutes. I bought a $10.00 1watt amplifier and a very small $10.00 1gig MP3 player off of eBay. I also decided I needed to install a off/on button to save on battery life in the amplifer. I've since changed my mind and I've decided to buy a 4.5DC wall power supply instead of using the batteries. So, I'll have two wall power supplies. One for the 24v bulb and a 4.5v for the amplifier batteries. The MP3 player has it's own rechargeable battery.

  • The stand and pole are easy to find on eBay for sale. Also the drive-in speaker person who sales these have 'em also.

    Thanks for the comments.

  • nice!

  • That is really cool! I've never known anybody who had a stand for the drive-in speakers. That makes for a much better way to display them. I love the amplifier and mp3 idea too. You did a great job on those!
