This video was taken at 2:28 EST, on Sunday, 28th August, 2011, during the approach of Hurricane Irene.
I noticed what first looked like diffuse lightning, but then realized that there was a regularity to the lightening up of the clouds, and wanted to trace the source location.
This video was taken from a rooftop in Manhattan, on the Upper West Side.
