How to Put an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad into DFU Mode

Hold the Power button and the Home button for 10 seconds together, release the Power button and continue holding down the Home button for another 8 seconds. MAKE SURE YOU COUNT! Don't rely on your computer to tell you when or when not it's in DFU mode.

@iPT2gGeec I've tried about 5 different lengths for holding, sometimes holding it for longer than necessary, as soon as one of the buttons is pressed or held on the ipod it just comes up with the apple logo and continues to start normally...

mine doesn't snapshot (you need to time it right), but it stays in the "Slide to power off" mode. it doesn't go black or become unresponsive. please help out. thanks.
