This interview is a must hear for anyone concerned about the state of civil rights in America.

This episode of "Books of Our Time" features an interview with author Kenji Yoshino. Yoshino, a Yale law Professor, will be on the air to discuss his new book "Covering: the Hidden Assault on Our Civil Rights". Dean Lawrence R. Velvel, the regular host of "Books of Our Time", will conduct the interview.

In this new book Yoshino powerfully evokes the current state of civil rights with an account of his experiences as a gay Japanese-American. Yoshino’s broadest, yet most important, critique may be his reasoning that discrimination in America is so rampant that it now targets those that "Fail to assimilate to mainstream norms," and are thus forced to hide, mask or cover their true selves. This interview is a must hear for anyone concerned about the state of civil rights in America.
