City Teens Rally For Vote Bill - Lowell Sun

A large group of local teenagers used a lively press conference yes­terday, including a spoken- word performance and plenty of crowd participation, to urge the state Legislature to act swiftly to pass a home- rule petition that would make it possi­ble for 17- year- olds to vote in city elections.

Teenagers affiliated with the United Teen Equality Center on Hurd Street said they need the state House and state Senate to pass the home- rule petition today in order to give Gov. Patrick time to sign it by Oct. 3.
