I'm on my way to Dr. Nassif's office to get the cast removed and all this other stuff.

I'm feeling better. It's been a transition but I've never felt any pain.

I just feel like I have a cold because of the congestion.

Everybody at the office has been really nice and helpful during this whole process.

The goal of rhinoplasty is to improve the nose aesthetically (without creating a surgical look) in order to create harmony with other facial features.

These are the most common side effects following rhinoplasty surgery.

Swelling: 36 to 48 hours following your procedure is typically when swelling will hit its peek and begin to slowly come down. Mornings are usually the time of the day that swelling is the most pronounced. In most cases the majority of swelling will reduce over the first 2 weeks, but it it is not uncommon to have swelling for up to a year.

Pain: You can expect some mild discomfort for 2-3 days following surgery. Pain varies from person to person as some report mild discomfort, which we prescribe medication for and some report it feeling more like they have a cold. Do take care not to hit or bump your nose on anything.

Nasal Blockage: Upon the removal of your initial nasal dressing one week following surgery, it is common to feel like you have what is best described as a head cold. These cold-like symptoms progressively reduce over a 6 week period following surgery.

Bruising: It is common to have bruising around the eyes and cheeks especially if your surgery included osteotomies, fracturing of the nasal bone. Bruising will peak approximately 2 days following surgery and slowly disappear over a 2 week period.
