MSA Sordin Supreme Pro are the best electronic hearing protection headsets we have used so far.
This set has lasted for years through hard use

  • MSA normally makes garbage products. Very low quality stuff. I'm surprised to see them making higher end ear protection. Looks interesting, although I'm not sure I would trust them knowing the kind of products that MSA puts out there. Good review though... thanks for sharing.

  • @TheHaleMoana

That is news to me, perhaps you could show us some proof of these "garbage products"

  • If you like these Try the TCI Liberator. They are amazing.

  • @ifstallings

I haven't seen those, I'll keep an eye out

  • Everyone seems to love the MSA Sordin Hearing protectors, well I disagree strongly. Shortly after trying them I knew I was in big trouble. I could barely hear at all and I developed a hideous ringing in both ears.

Now I have a roaring jet plane engine noise in each ear 24 hours a day. I cant sleep, eat, or concentrate. My life has gone from a happy go lucky ride to a living hell on earth. Save your money and your hearing.

  • Sounds as though you have develpoed tinitis or whatever it's called

I doubt it was the ear protection, as much as it was coinciedence and it would have developed anyway, and you just happened to start wearing them at that time

I'm no doctor, but I've never heard of that happeneing

I know they can treat that though, go see a doctor

  • @GearBuyersGuide News to me as well--- however, I don't have much experience with MSA's actual products.

MSA purchased "SORDIN" which is a European company that makes high end personal safety equipment years ago. If I'm not mistaken the Sordins are still made by the original Sordin facilities in Europe.

That said-- all the actual MSA products (respirators and masks) I've ever used were pretty darn good.

  • I run the MSA Sordin Supreme IV Comms Headsets, And love them but where did you get the gel ear pads

  • @tuzzo456 im pretty sure if you have a roaring jetplane in your ears 24 hours a day, that you would have noticed these werent working because it was still loud, you wont get that much damage in the amount of time it takes you to realize a headset isnt working right. you kinda sound like an angry idiot to be honest.

  • Hmmm...some of the negative comments are puzzling because this model and it's variations are well spoken of in the online shooting community...and of any group, they should have useful experience with the product's use. I'm not quite sure how you can NOT notice if the filtering aspect is not working properly, and if you notice pain, just turn off the muffs and they default to regular muffs. oh, and I own a pair. I wish they had a higher db rating but they feel good (gel) and work great.

  • Also, TCI though cheap is another supplier of crap. go to a real tactical comms company. You'll pay for it but the service and product will be worlds beyond what TCI could ever offer.

  • DO NOT BUY THESE! MSA is one of the biggest suppliers of crap I've ever seen. As a military member and as a tactical headset technician for a comms company. I get Sordin/Panther headsets both comms and hearing pro daily for repair. The battery compartment spring loses tension because it's made of shoddy material among other problems. If you want a good hearing pro headset or cup style comm headset just spend the money and buy a Peltor ACH, you'll thank me later.

  • @GearBuyersGuide If I'm not mistaken Tactical Command Industries Liberator series are customized MSA Sordin "xxx" w/ integrated mic's and PTP systems. They actually sell a custom version of the Sordin made exclusively for them by MSA. If your interested CALL them. They will literally do what ever u want. My headset has a throat mic w/ disconnect, and even a 3/8th jack (late nite tunes at the range) with auto-volume adjustment for comms and mid lvl noises(ie voices) TCI kicks ass.
