JRC & safety assessment of nanomaterials

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre supports safety assessment of nanomaterials in consumer products and applies nanosciences to a wide range of areas: cosmetics, medicine, biotechnology, electronics, energy, materials science, food additives. Understanding the interaction of nanomaterials with living organisms, identifying potencial hazards, sharing and applying researching results (detection, quantification, characterisation) on behalf of a normative standardisation of the nanomaterials.
