This monitoring sounds all well and good to help us be 'safe', but once government gets paranoid and/or corrupt enough, this stuff can be used against our own citizens to protect government, which is exactly the reverse of what the constitution establishes government to be. Government is subservient to the people, not vice versa.

ya, i like the idea of my tax dollars going to monitor facebook accounts. Do they really think that terrorists use their facebook or twitter as their communication hub. I do not agree that we need a government that forces all citizens to pay for "protection" from terrorists. More people have been killed by donkeys than by terrorists, so the fearmongering is unjustified.
