How do these work on non-paved surfaces -- gravel, sandy or grassy areas? I'm wondering if these could be practical for covering long distances.

reminds me of that videogame portal

Why is there not an explosive action movie based on these yet?

@disgustedandamused i have seen people use these on sand, and grass, so i don't think they would be too bad. Don't have my own pair yet, but i don't think they would be too bad.

@gulllars good ones are about 150$-400$ :D

@disgustedandamused gravel and grass is ok, though it is almost impossible to run on sand. hope that helps

@disgustedandamused Sand is absolutely awful for these because there's not enough surface area to stay on top. Grass is fine but you want to only walk on gravel. The tilting footplate made it pretty hard for me to learn how to use jumping stilts but once you get the balancing act perfected, they're awesome.
I tilt me feet back as far as possible (like riding a horse) for jumping because if you tilt the plate you lose balance, but I tilt it down when I pull my foot off the ground when running,
