  • @realteen I see that you have a great deal of beautiful love and compassion in your heart. I appreciate your questions, because it is how many Catholic youth of today perceive issues such as gay-marriage. Let's not be bullied by Satan into accepting evils because they involve a beautiful person. Love the sinner; hate the sin. I won't be able to reply to further comments. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and please pray for me. =)

  • @realteen ...just as long as you don't pat her on the back for making $50 the previous night! As for the signs and banners --- how else are we supposed to defend the beautiful union of marriage (formed by God) that Satan is peverting through so-called gay "marriage"? We weren't allowed to chant or hand out pamphlets, so signs were the best way. Also, they were not entirely meant for the gay students, but mostly for the college. We don't want pro-gay seminars and instructional classes going on.

  • @realteen ...but the acceptance and even encouragement of the fulfillment of the desires of the gay community is unacceptable. Gay people are called to chastity and it is not impossible for them to do so. Nuns and Priests are perfectly capable of remaining chaste, so why should the gay community be any different? The sin is not in desiring another person of your own gender, it is acting upon it in lust and adultery. There is nothing wrong with being friends with a protestitute, just as long as..

  • @realteen Let me ask you something. Do you think that those who lie, steal, cheat, murder and commit adultery should be awarded recognition, special talks at their college campus, the approval of the community and a flag even? There are people who have a psychological disposition to do such things (and they cannot help it), but that doesn't mean we commend them or work to keep them from hurting others and themselves. We've already agreed that people who are gay cannot help it (that is true).

  • Oh dear, I'm 35 seconds in & just saw the sign you made. I'm 19, and right now i'm in the process of discerning whether to join the religious life. People can't help how they were born. I have many gay friends in college and if you ask them if they ever wanted to be straight for an easier life they would say yes. It was not their decision! I've read the Bible obviously but I disagree with the Old Testiment regarding this. @SheIsCatholic, can i ask you honestly, do you believe being Gay is a sin?

  • @Realteen If you disagree with the Old Testament, or more precisely the Church's teachings on homosexuality, perhaps you should find yourself a spiritual adviser so you can further discuss your thoughts on the matter. A good guide can really help you get to where God wants you. Best wishes in your discernment - God bless!

  • I admire you for defending what you believe in. I want to be able to do that too.

  • this is definitely the unpopular view today, but of course popularity does not = truth; I'm glad you and your friends had the courage to do this! God bless :)

  • @Realteen There are at least 6 scriptures that have shown homosexuality to be a sin. If we ignore that, what else should we ignore?

  • @SheIsCatholic a Carmelite Nun here in Ireland, and she agrees that Gay people are born this way and that as they cannot reproduce the marriage has no purpose! I can't begin to explain to you how strongly I disagree with this. On the contrary, by you making signs/banners like that, do you not feel it is hurting people, as you put it ,who ''have a homosexual disposition''? Because it is hurting them. And that's breaking the Golden Rule. Where's the logic?

  • @Realteen To have a homosexual disposition is recognized and acknowledged within the church (that cannot be helped) The act of engaging in physical, homosexual relationships is indeed a grave sin. Supporting the act is also a serious matter. Engaging in homosexual activity closes all possibility to new life and is a plainly done out of pleasure. There is a lot of help made available for those who are have homosexual tendencies - did you know that Freud had them, but corrected himself?
