This is my 1998 Dodge Dakota Sport. Its has a 5.2L V8(318) and automatic transmission. 4x4 166,000 miles. Does need some body work but no big deal to me as thats what I do for a hobby. Its mostly rust free underneath, remarkable for being a Minnesota vehicle. Everything works on the truck except the speedometer. It won't be drivin for two months so I'll get it fixed. The interior is nearly in perfect condition. I love this truck and its going to be fun working on it as its my first.

  • how many miles to the gallon do you get? i might be getting one

  • @sbboy9325 I get around 20 if I drive the speed limit. Average is around 17-20. It has a cold air intake which helped give it a couple more mpgs plus a little more power.

  • Update: We got the speedometer and cruise control working.

  • clear coat burned away im my 03 dakota to. it sucks

  • My other dakota was a 96 sport 2wd with the 2.5 5spd manual no a/c..I bought it new....put 100,000 miles on it the first yr. Only maintenance done to it during that time, spark plug wires, tires, had to grease up the manual locks all the time on it otherwise they get rusting and stick. Was a great truck, and fun to drive 23-29mpg

  • Pretty neet truck...Mine is a 97 but with the same options as yours, mine is a poppy red. I like black and its easiest to touch up...this is my second dakota and Id get another one but it would be a 5spd as most 90's automatic transmissions were trouble prone and expensive to fix. I might consider a cold air intake as Im only getting 18.5 mpg on a trip and 12-16 in mixed driving mostly short trip.

  • I'm looking into pretty much the exact same truck for sale. Only difference is it's red, has a 3-inch lift, 33-inch tires, a brush guard with spotlights, a rollbar with spotlights, and a diamondplate toolbox. The guy wants $6500 OBO for it. It's got 98 thousand miles on it. Pretty nice.

  • @OldsCutlass1978 nice truck man! im 17 and just got my first truck today. a 98 dodge dakota sport 4x4 v8 magnum ext cab with only 127k miles, for 2800 bucks. man its in great shape. interior is spotless to. also has exhaust system on it.
