  • donovan is the best. better than dylan

  • @MrComte40 For my taste, that's exactly right. I guess Donovan started out trying to copy Dylan, since his early albums sound very similar to Dylan with all the harmonica and acoustic guitar, then Donovan diverged into electric guitar, semi-rock, semi-jazz, and semi-psychedelic songs. In short, all The Good Stuff. Donovan also has a very fine, quality voice, and takes care with the melody, which Dylan does not. I suppose Dylan fans will argue that Dylan had better lyrics, though.

  • this makes me happy when i am sad

  • @lachamaburda It's great to have songs like that. This isn't exactly one of those cheerful songs like "Colour My World" (Petula Clark)--it's more mysterious--but as a young teen I actually considered this song "spiritual", probably due to its depth, overall sound, and personal associations. After I learned more about music theory, this song's simple chord progression stripped away the mystery, but I still like it.

  • lol at 40 seconds the guy in the second row is scratching his butt :D

  • @TheJL900 Sure is strange. :-) And a fat butt, no less!

  • Jeff Beck played on this this album, I think it was this song

  • @Ultrasilk Thanks much. *Somebody* must be bringing people here because this video is suddenly getting a huge number of views. Maybe I should post more songs that are classics like this one, rather than posting obscure ones just to avoid duplication on YouTube.
