Indian army chief praises Bangladesh military's global role

Visiting Indian army chief General V K Singh today appreciated Bangladesh army's role in the 1971 Liberation War and international peacekeeping operations.

"Updated and well trained Bangladesh Army emerged through an armed liberation war and for last four decades Bangladesh army adopted a sundry policies and management procedures,"he told the President's Parade marking the passing out of the battalions of Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) in southeastern port city of Chittagong.

He said Bangladesh army has become the largest contributor of troops to the world in 21 years and earned respect from world community in performing peace keeping tasks in an apple pie order.

A 1971 veteran and the last serving Indian general who fought the war also recounted his memories of Bangladesh's Liberation War and said it was a not fought alone through military arsenal or by military arsenal.

"As a junior member of Indian Army, I had a rare experience of taking part in 1971 war which gave me a tremendous feeling - a feeling of becoming a part of country's independence,"Singh said.

Singh called upon the newly commissioned officers to remain prepared even for supreme sacrifice for safeguarding independence and sovereignty of the beloved motherland.

By the way,Our Army should have an Individual belt and free from Controversy.According to world increase of tension we are not out of that.Our soldiers are piece keeping globally but First need is to protect border killing and occupying land by India and Myanmar slowly and gradually then we will say loudly " We are proud of our ARMY".If Pakistan can afford Missile and atomic then Bangladesh should do so immediately. Because our economy is not big less then Pakistan.We have no need certificate.

this is not the the fact we need our own defense myanmar had so much missile we donot have our navy need atleast 30 -50 missile career boats .

@ankboss you are thinking wrong.. that's our bangladeshi flag..Red & Green..That is we wear..And In the middle that is white belt..So It's not Indian fjag..

all right i understand that the bangladeshi arm wanted to honor the indian chief, but why would they wear indian flag as their belt. That's an absolute dishonor to Bangladesh's sovereignty. Would you ever see indian army wear other countries flag as their belt, even if the US president comes down to visit them
