After serving a 9-game ban from the NHL, Trevor Gillies of the NY Islanders returns to get ejected in a game against the Minnesota Wild.

Tough guys are great, but Gillies is a flat out embarrassment and a disgrace to the game.

@grsmedia Then they have Mike Milbury trashing the organization that he himself ruined. The same Milbury who jumped into an NHL crowd and beat up a FAN with his own shoe!!!...the NHL disciplinary system is terrible.

@pheare55 Im an isles fan, the hit was high, He deserved a penalty, but it was not deserving of the 9 game suspension he received. He finished a check a little high after clutterbuck boards a defenseless player. If this was any other player in the league, it would have been a 2 minute minor with no suspension. The NHL was upset because the islanders did back to the penguins (the NHL moneymaker) what they have been doing to others for the past few years. (continued...)

Two wrongs don't make a right. If Gillies did nothing wrong he wouldn't have been suspended, again. You can whinge all you like and blame the announcers but the NHL agreed with them, not you.
