Nothing if it ignores its own doctrines. "Thou shall not Kill" for example – is often ignored. But Atheist also kill – so that’s one thing they have in common.

Religion was made to keep people in order without the use of a strict police force that wouldn't work because the weak-minded people had strength in numbers. A big lie about a convincing utopia and a terrifying world of torture and how to get to either is pretty convincing for idiots. But, I can't lie, that without religion, there would have never been an Enlightenment or a Scientific Revolution. Both were very important, but religion is now hindering our progress.

@speak2sam so you're an atheist but you're afraid to admit it. people have that so called "critical thinking" that allows them to know good from bad, show love and respect. you don't need a religion to tell you these things.
