I can't imagine life without color.

I can't remember when there wasn't color on TV. The first TV program I can remember watching was Captain Kangaroo. My Momther said I called it the jingle bells show,

I Believe This Was A VIdeo Clip Of CBS News' Sunday Morning's Almanac Report On First Color TV On Sunday Morning, March 25, 2001.

NBC filmed and broadcast Bonanza in color to help sell RCA color television sets. RCA owned NBC at the time.
-
Notice that they didn't say that the CBS mechanical color system lost out and the NBC electronic system won. Kind of like Betamax and VHS.
-
I am surprised the FCC decided to adopt the CBS colour system as it was incompatible with the RCA black and white standard. From the photos I have seen, the CBS system wasn't as good as the RCA/NBC system.

Actually, the Columbia system of color TV was adopted before the RCA system. Columbia had mechanical color TVs (with a spinning color wheel inside the sets), and several TV stations, which broadcast a few shows in this format, on the east coast only. Shortly thereafter, RCA's all-electronic color TV format was adopted.
who the hell is in that 1%?

lol. My Grandparents bought a color tv many years ago and someone came over to watch a movie. Well, the movie was in black and white. He said, "Ya'll done bought a piece of junk! It's still in black and white!" XD
