School/District Achievement Labels -- are based on state and federal accountability systems and administered by the Arizona Department of Education -- they are based on how well a school and district as a whole do on meeting state standards. Arizona's workbook for the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) must be approved by the United States Department of Education. The state's systems are approved by the State Board of Education. There will be a dual school and district rating system in Arizona for the next 2 years with both letter grades and the old "legacy" labels -- then schools and districts will transition to just letter grades. This is based on state legislation that was passed last year.
Could use a little more information on the other pieces that make up the grades. AIMS is definitely the main piece, and the video mentioned 50% of the score is based on the AIMs. Would be nice to know the exact makeup and % of the other pieces.
