In addition, Bjorn Borg would have gotten to play with the more Powerful Tennis Rackets and hit the ball even harder to compete with players if he had continued.
Yes, i agree Bjorn probably didn't want to keep up the training and was probably stressed that John was a new rival, but the fact is that Bjorn was most likely through with Tennis Mentally and didn't want to compete or train any more. I totally disagree with Bud is inferring that Bjorn couldn't compete with John McEnroe's game.
If Bjorn had continued, it would have been an awesome rivalry with both winning and losing along with Ivan Lendl coming up.
What Bud Collins said that John McEnroe drove Bjorn Borg out of Tennis is so wrong. Yes, Bjorn got burned out of Tennis and probably didn't want to train as hard to maintain or to improve his talent. But to say Bjorn couldn't compete with John is ridiculous. Remember, both had a 7 to 7 record against each other. This record of equality, 7 to 7, and Bud says Bjorn couldn't compete and was driven out by John is wrong. Bjorn just was burned out and didn't want to compete anymore by then.
@5:29 simply the best of all time!!! Better than Borg, Federer, Nadal or Sampras etc. This is simply too good. This is supreme tennis.

@JimAsian1 Remember that they never met on clay, where Mac probably wouldn´t have had a chance.

I do wish Bjorn had continued, but it was his decision and he accomplished so much in Tennis.
