David Bowie - The Jean Genie (Live Audio Top Of The Pops) January 4th 1973

In January 1973, David Bowie performed live on TOTP, The Jean Genie. That performance is either wiped or gone missing. Only audio exists. I do remember David puffing and blowing on his harmonica and holding shakers. He wore an unbuttoned jacket with no shirt. The band were terrific as always. He always performed live so I cannot conceive what donkey at the Beeb would have this tape wiped. The three performances by the Pink Floyd on TOTP doing "See Emily Play" in 1967 are also wiped. Update on this....See Emily Play has since been rediscovered and just went missing for 40 years!! Will be showing at the BFI, London very soon) This was David's last live performance on Top Of The Pops until 1977 when he entered the BBC studio to perform "Heroes"
