Phillips Variation Arm Pull Instant Hypnosis Induction

Instructional piece on the Phillips Variation Arm Pull Instant Hypnosis Induction trance process with Brian David Phillips (羅狼仁), hypnotist (催眠). This is a video edition of the free Hypnocast with information about one of my hypnosis processes including a demonstration. The video was recorded during a Walkabout Trance event in Taipei (see my workshop posts at Life of Brian where a group of hypnotists got together and did cold walkups to members of the public to perform instant inductions and suggestion effects. This episode is a demonstration of my variation of an arm-pull instant hypnotic induction. The Phillips Variation Arm Pull Instant Hypnosis Induction utilizes a moment of misdirection and confusion based upon asking which hand a person uses the most. It is a nice piece to open folks with and is very quick and easy to use. I came up with the idea after playing around a bit with misdirection for influence and found that this particular approach has the benefits of other instant induction sets like the hand drop with the added confusion element of the handshake and others. I enjoy using it and have found many folks have increased success rates when following the pattern. Do note the video starts a bit late into the induction but the explanation is clear. i keep doing this over and over without results.. same with alot of the other techniques.. i read in depth about them and i still have only successfully hypnotized 2 people out of 30... is there anything you can tell me to help me?

@redyoshi93 Consider taking a live course with a competent hypnotist or joining a practice group with experienced hypnotists.

@maximustrainingwave Depends on what you mean. I first learned from books and then practiced like crazy but today we have so many excellent training resources available - I have a number of DVDs and courses out there - so you can avoid the mistakes we old farts made when we learned on our own.

What if you ask them for their hand and they give you the right hand, then you ask them what hand they are and they say right? Do you switch to the left hand?

Yes. :-) It's a confusion technique. Always switch so their focus is on the hands instead of the rest of the process. See my yahoogroup for more.

I haven't tried hypnosis yet simply because I don't know wether to explain what I'm going to do in my pre talk.

I just don't want them to be de-senstised to the technique because they know what to expect.

just practice on someone like a friend and do it until they get hypnotised lol but the biggest pain for me that i dont know if its relevant or not, is when my friend laughs and jokes around. so i need to find out if it still works on them

nope. you need speech training with it in order to even say "sleep"
