It was an honour to be asked to sing 'Waltzing Matilda' at the first annual Memorial Service in Bali. After the sad occasion we were taken to see the wreaths and flowers strung out along the road at the scene of the terrorist attack. I was touched by four lines simply scribbled alongside a photo. I copied them down on a scrap of paper. These lines were perfect to set off a song dedicated to those who perished in the disaster.

This song was written for the victims of the Bali bombings. In fact the first 4 lines were written on a note from one of the victims families. John found the note and thought he would finish it. As John Laws says," if he couldn't write a note of music, of which he certainly can, John williamson is an extraordinary poet". Sums up JW just nicely.
sure, great, but what do the images have to do with the lyrics?

@TheWombat40 I note you have zero uploads ..it's hard to do 800 odd uploads with exact images for each one
