As an aside: what bothered me the most was the lack of difficult puzzles. SH3 had some crazy puzzles, and SH 1 and 2 were pretty difficult for when I played them.
SM was still good game, though - played through it nearly five times already.

The ending to SM is kind of ruined when you pick up the first memento if you look back at it.
Nice points on the series, good review.

I have a feeling there will be more Silent hill games like this one
I've beaten shattered memories 4 times now

its easy to get lost in this game and start walking around endlessly, i got the guide for it , this game surprised me i didnt think i would like it so much

The monsters don't all behave the same, actually. With the more "nice" Harry they "pet" him when they kill him, like stroke his hair, while the more sexual ones will.... You get the picture.
Haven't seen this myself, however. Multiple people talked about it though on some forums.

Seems you and I had the same idea Chiron. I just bought Shattered Memories and just started playing it today. I like it so far and your right it is less scarey than Fatal Frame, but I will be going back to Fatal Frame.
I can;t wait to see the LP, please put it up quickly! I wanna see how you play the game. Can't wait to see ^_^

I'm really glad that ur doing a LP of Shattered Memories. i watched someone else do one, and he struggled on some really easy parts, or what i thought seemed easy, but i haven't played it so i guess i really shouldn't saying anything
Since I lack a Wii, I was considering buying this on the PSP. Does the lack of a Wiimote radically alter the gameplay, or is it basically the same?

It'd only alter how you aim the flashlight and how you interact with objects in the puzzles. I'd imagine those would be handled easily, though.

Gotta say I agree with you about SM. I finished it yesturday and I adore it. I'm unsure whether SH2 or SM is better in my opinion, but it's one of the best ones made so far.
Personally, I loved the gameplay. On the PS2 its really easy to control moving the stuff (compared to what I've seen of the Wii) and although the puzzles are easy, I played for the atmosphere and plot, so that's probably why I loved it, especially the lack of combat, running away from everything in the Icey Otherworld

I don't understand how people have such issues controlling the Wii. I've never had issues with it, and I didn't have any issues with it here (even with the usually awkward twisting motions). But hey, everyone can't be as awesome as me (<<A JOKE).
I love the game as well and I'd likely put it second to SH2. The game's still too fresh and new for me to just bump it up to the top without reflection.
