you cant go home while in basic training, the night before your passing out parade your allowed to see your family but must return to hms raleigh, after your passing out parade you go home for the weekend and are allowed to go home on weekends if your off duty

it depends which job you want to do, for most jobs the waiting list is about two years.

I'm 13 and i've wanted to be in the navy since i was 8, for years i've spent weekends with my uncle learning as much as i can about it, my uncle was in the navy from 18 to and left only a few months ago at 21, he gave me all his books and taught me how to march, i've been to hms raleigh and been to presentations, i want to be a personal logistician.. the navy has so many great oppertunitys.. its all i've ever wanted to do really.

i've always wondered if you join the navy now, will you be at sea or sent to help land operations in afghanistan.

Training at Raleigh has increased to 10 weeks, I was down there with the Sea cadets and spoke to one of the officers about joining and he mentioned it
