Here is a roadtrain operating on Brisbane's Ipswich/logan motorway .
Roadtrains are not normally permitted with in 125 kilometers of Brisbane but this one of a few are operating under a special permit, and seem to mingle with other traffic with out even being noticed

  • They've been trialing these for a while now. I think there is only one or two companies running containers at the moment, and they're only allowed to go from the Port of Brisbane to Toowoomba. Max length is 30m, and if you have a close look at the dolly trailer you'll notice a big box - that's a special ABS and stability control module that stops any swaying and keeps the trailers in line. It's good stuff.

  • @caminorey I have seen them a few times but never had the chance to video.

I was gunna say 26 meters length but it looked longer than that so i'll go with your 30 meters, and i did notice the box on the dolly but didn't know what it was for.

There is at least 2 companys doing this, the other company has a bit of green in the color scheme, it thinks is road2C or something similar.

Thanks for the info by the way

  • @shaned8845 i have seen Woods Grain running East through Toowoomba as a roadtrain, that would be the green colour schemed trucks

  • @kirbs1774 yep That's probably right

  • very interesting the description... is always nice to see these trucks, I believed that they were all so long as a general rule in Australia, even remember when got me my permission here in Europe is...EC = Trailer... the driving truck was 1 axis..!did not reach 12 metres, legally in Europe as maximum for road trains are 18,75, but by Germany and and Sweden you see of 25´50 metres, I imagine that a truck toy for you LOL.

  • @truckernacion 25 meters into capital citys is normal on approved routes, longer roadtrains are not permitted, typically a 2 trailer roadtrain go to 36 m, triples and other combinations can go to 55m

Triples are only used in the west of Queensland, Far west NSW and most of the Western half of Australia
