@althedj - The generosity and spirit that you have shown in sharing that story with us in a way which has certainly enriched the life-experience of this commentator, are a tribute to both the great Zappa and to you. Thanks.

Zappa had that weird Charlie Manson "thing" with-out the killing.

I cried over the death of Frank Zappa

Even at that late time,Frank was still a bore.

Frank Zappa was a musicians musician; who could play almost every instrument. He loved to argue with his foolish TV contemporaries, who totally misunderstood what he was about; including, his immortal musical lyrics.
They are all dead and gone now; the dust has settled; yet, Franks music and memory lives on. Frank, wherever you are...I love you, and will always love your humorous lyrics and gifted musical talents.

he kinda looks like charlie manson to me

The real deal- Nature did this to him, yet he himself remained the man he always was, completely untouched because of an imperishable willpower and profound wisdom.

Sad to see, but wonderful that Frank still was Frank at this stage in his life.
I can't remember the year, but I was playing with a group at the Whisky second billing to the Mothers, Frank was there, he sent Buffalo (the Bari sax player with the Mothers) to our dressing room to get my phone number. Needless to say I almost had a heart attack, I asked myself what did I play to catch his ear. I'm 62 now and still playin', this experience remains with me, Frank never called but wow, what a buzz. Thanks Frank for this life time memory.
You will always be with us. PEACE
