Believe it or not, Cookie Monster was invented by Henson specificallyn to be used in Muncho's commercials. The company decided not to air the ads because they thought having a monster in their commercials would discourage people. So he brought the character into Sesame Street, and the rest is history.

I can tell that Frank Oz doesn't do Muncho (Cookie) Monster's voice here, but Jim Henson voiced the pitchman.
