Duets and Poems by Aleksey Igudesman, inspired by Celtic, Eastern European and Latin American music, as well as scratching cats and flying pigs.

Violinist and composer Aleksey Igudesman has been traveling the world, playing concerts for over 20 years, never leaving out an opportunity to explore the music of the different counries he has visited.
For some time now has also been composing violin duets for Universal Edition in diverse musical styles. Alongside, he has been writing poetry to compliment his own music.

In this special project, he manages to bring different ways of playing the violin together in the most playful way possible. Pieces inspired by Jewish Klezmer music are mixed with Celtic Irish music, Bulgarian and Eastern European sounds, Salsa music and Tango.

Various duets, often complimented with a touch of Igudesmans unique humour, are performed by him together with his friends and grand figuers of violin playing Julian Rachlin, Janine Jansen and Alexandra Soumm.
In between pieces, Sir Roger Moore recites Igudesmans poetry, inspired by Scratching Cats and Flying Pigs. Julian Rachlin himself has contributed with his pig drawings to Igudesmans latest publication Pigs can Fly.
Some young and not so young surprise guests will make the whole event into something where the next generation of violin players is also featured!

Sir Roger Moore, legendary actor, is also known for being an extremely active UNICEF ambassador since 1991. This project, involving violin players of a young generation, is a perfect platform for further awareness for UNICEFs unique work in the world.
