Mill Avenue Nights #1

The drum circle is a common attraction of the Ave. I've picked out a few choice comments about it and a two people I know from there and recorded them. Plus, I included a passage from the booklets about the statue that originally interrupted the drum circle.

The statue causes a little bit of animosity for us because it's insertion -- while a kind tribute to our congressman and previous mayor -- felt like a deliberate (or insensitive) interruption to the drum circle. Tempe has an active ignorance or malice towards the street rat culture that groans in ever crease of the city. So it's hard not to take offense when things like this are done.
