I was in the Army, and there's a lot of truth to this. If you read about cult brainwashing on HowStuffWorks and compare it to basic training, it's the exact same formula.

I always talk about how being in the army does not make you a better, or extra person. I once did it on a chatroom and almost everyone called me an idiot asshole who hated freedom.....

I have to Disagree. Not because I don't agree with your view, I agree with pretty much everything you say, but fighting for our Freedom is just what they put on T.V. The Majority of them, I have to say, are fighting for a paycheck. I know several Military men who have retained their individuality. And are only in the Military for the pay.

This is even stupider than blaming the police for laws. I understand being angry at police, since they're the ones that actually arrest you. But we can all agree it was a judge, lawyer or a politician who made what you did illegal, and it's a judge who's going to actually condemn you. At least the police have some discretion in the matter. But the military has absofuckinglutely nothing to do with that. BTW some of the smartest and overall best people I have met work or have worked in the USAF.
