it would be fun to see a model village be under it and see if it would decimate it

Put one beside the weather forecast centre to get a free day off

AWESOME DUDES SOO AWESOME =D

wow ,now l know how to make crop circles !!! if"n ye be want"n to stear dat der ship ,tilt da blade matie ! nice video

You know how a vortex is created at the tip of a wing, rotor, propeller? That's an example of a fast moving vortex, where the ambient air has a hard time filling the void.
With a curved vortex, I mean a bend vortex. You know about the vortex ring? A vortex ring is bend 360º. Imagine a vortex that is bent 180º... get it?!

how about putting a tornado above the vortex. this way we will have the vortex doing the low pressure while the tornade keeping the ambient air above from entering the center!!
-
Making the vortex going as fast as possible is not good.. too much energy loss and too much noise..
I dont know if I undersand the curved vortex?.. do you mean to have a normal centrifugal fan with the blades a little bit angled up or down.. but aint that just a propeller now?
I have some ideas and I am still thinking.. it is really unresearched subject I think.. .. there is hardly any craft on earth that uses the atmospheric pressure alone for lift...

You're thinking in the right direction, but these are the first steps, please continue this logic. How to close the top of a vortex, without a solid plate. I think I know the answer: a curved vortex. Do you understand why I think that is the best solution? An other solution might be to move a vortex so fast that the ambient air has no time to move in. Have you got other ideas?

true so if we imagine a centrifugal fan throwing air to the perimeter and having a "void" in the middle. this void is filled from air comeing from over and under the center. if we close the both upper and lower sides the upper and lower "plates" are going to be sucked into the center and still we dont have any locomotion. so how do we slove this? hmm maybe by keeping the same vortex fan the same BUT! restricting the air above from incoming into the center WITHOUT any physical plates.
hehe thank you for the nice words,, nothing is diffecult really, only if we put our minds into it its gonna work.. ..
about the propulsion. I like now to think of it like this i want an efficient thrust. and that is done by removing the pressure above, to do that I may use sound, electricity or rotation to somehow move the air molecules.. I just think that if one can remove the presuure by vibration one will get great great bonus

reducing the pressure from one surface, that's what today's aircraft do. The question is if it can be done in new & more efficient ways. Using: vortex, or sound, electrostatic charge.. anything that works is welcome.
