Very nice, I just bought the actual 10/22 M1 conversion stock so we will see how that goes. I'm like you I like the look and feel of the ole M1 carbine but they are just too expensive to shoot.

just look in cheaper then dirt magazines 10/22 stuff

You can buy a m1 carbine stock for your ruger for $70 just sayin les work but good work

I an glad to see that some people still use the imagination and ingenuity that made this country great! I look at all of the "custom" rifles on here and most I see are just kits that anyone can buy and put together in an hour or so. So nice job! I have a handmade trigger assembly and synthetic stock on my 10/22 and like yours I had to work to get it.

Great Vid! I just finished (90%) my own conversion. One quick question. After fitting the action to the stock, the bolt cut out is flush with the right side of the stock, but the trigger housing is about 1/4" shy of flush towards the rear of the housing. Did you have to alter the area around the trigger housing? Or did you alter the bolt area to allow you to seat the action a little lower in the stock?

The best I can tell you is just take you time and use a light to see what bits of wood are hitting when you try to put the action in. I's nice to know there are still DIY'ers doing this little project instead of buying those cheap looking kits.
