On the weekend of 28th & 29th June, Alex Gassman raced a Subaru Impreza for the first time in 3 Nippon Challenge Races. Alex, (16 years old), has never driven a Subaru on track before, nor had he driven around Pembrey. He only had one 20 minute practice session to familiarise himself with the car and track.
The car was an older model Impreza WRX, supplied by Graham Poultney of XSPEC Motorsport, who we highly reccomend. It was on road tyres, whereas all the other cars were running on semi-slicks.
The video is a selection of some of the best bits from the weekend. The first clip is of a MX5 spinning right in front of Alex. The second is of Alex provoking oversteer to try and kill some of the understeer, which he managed. The next two clips are sections during races 1 and 3.
Alex finished 4th in all 3 races, after qualifying 6th. He finished 2nd in his class in each race as well.
