Princess Mononoke　Making 【1】 (13_14) has come back with English subtitles here!
In this 13th episode, Director Miyazaki explains to the novice animators how difficult and still important to express the gravity of saved power force when a character swings a sword, or an animal does a jumping.
And to balance between the gravity and the speed.
There's a smile-inviting scene where Director himself cooks Soba Noodles for everybody as well.
Later, he starts to talk about the real meanings of ''Individuality'' or ''Uniqueness'' in his own way, and that means in his ''philosophical'' way, naturally!

US promotions are a bit different. Some do have tests, but most hire you based on your existing ability to animate. I don't think there is a place that does a group test this way.
