I remember when I was very young & a UVF gunman walked up to our doorstep about to shoot my Da when he answered the knocking. The gunman seemed rather professional as he was geared up like an SAS operative, but he made a major mistake. Can anyone guess? He left his feckin' lights on in his car & had a Unionist flag waving on the roof. My Dad blindfired w/ a shotgun, taking the legs of him. When the guards showed up, they threw the body inside the house so he'd had been 'shot while tresspassing'.

Good thing the troubles have quietened down, otherwise there might be drones flying over North Ireland.

Huh? Call me young and naive but I thought it was Protestants VS Catholics, not Republicans VS Loyalists.

@NHarmonik
Religion if anything was just a form of cultural identity and a way of identifying either a member of the loyalist or republican community. The founders of Irish Republicanism were protestants. The very concept of the Irish Republican flag is the unity of Catholics and Protestants. Religion has played a factor, but certainly not the main factor.

@Catholicism777 no offense but how can you not believe in god? and how can you be happy that you "will just become maggot food":?

@SA1933
No offence taken. I wish I did believe in God, but I feel that I can't believe in something which has no evidence of its existence.
