it's all in the tune and not all that crazy at all. i was 30r 2.0l for a while before i upgraded to a 2.5l and my 2.0 was still running strong. go big or go home! people with subaru's have the most typical build. 16g/18g or vf39.. it's all good when your looking for that little power but if you really want to be fast then skip that bs lol

i ended up selling the car with a built motor 2.5l, the turbo supportively went bad soon after i sold it and he took it off to put a 16g LOL

Ive got an 03 wrx with basically every supporting mod and ppg 5spd (stock turbo). Deciding whether to do a 30r next on the stock 205 or 2.5 bottom end. Anyways...

Do you regret doing the 30r before the 2.5L? I don't think I would mind the lag, because once it hits..it'll hit hard. But also the extra torque would be nice, but my td04 would fall flat on its face...

i do not regret it because i wasn't sure if i was going to do a 2.5l build at all at that time. the 30r on the ej205 wasn't bad at all but you have to understand the risks.. i know a few ej205 30rs and most of them blew up their engines lol i was just one of them that was lucky enough to have my engine last until my new built motor was ready to go in. if i were to recommend it, i would say do the 2.5l first unless you have balls lol

Its a 04 sti gauge cluster. You have to cut a wire in one of the cluster plugs or it'll keep blowing the fuse for the stereo. The 05+ sti clusters are a bit more difficult to install but can be done but 04 usdm sti cluster is what you want if you have the same model car as me

@f34rthe4banger a 30r making 365whp is not very aggressive at all. Squeezing every ounce of timing/boost out of an 18g to make 365whp is however aggressive, and stupid.

USDM 2.0L just won't hold up to this long. Yeah it worked for this vid but it wouldn't for much longer afterwards lol. You probably did your build just in time. I am running a stroked V7 EJ207 and I fucking LOVE IT!!! Crazy amount of power and revs!

i would say go 2.5 liter first, check my vid with a turbo smaller than this fp green

@ownnij Damn, Im in the process of building my 2.5 block and just replaced the tranny with a sti 6 speed. I miss my long gears, but its definitely better in the top end now. I cant decide on a 30r or 35r... it will have meth and run on e85 so im not worried about alot of boost. You think I could make over 450whp on e85 @ around 20psi on the 35r? I dont drive like I stole the car but dont want to worry about rebuilding the turbo every 2 months.
