The 'coconut' reference was unhelpful...identifying a Conservative position as a 'white' one--also detracts from the important political issues at stake here. But someone speaking from a passionate commitment to defend a beleaguered community, who then apologises for words uttered in frustration does not deserve to be branded a racist. The decision to prosecute was shameful and must be scrutinised.
