Jordan was the best scorer in the playoffs, but that's not even close to all that matters. Russell played defense(which wins championships) Russell unarguably plays defense better than Jordan. And now you admit that Wilt performed good in the playoffs? Wilt put up great numbers in the playoffs in his early years, but his scoring went down when his teammates got better.

Yes definitely playing well in the playoffs is all that matters regardless of winning or not. How the fuck are you going to win if you don't have a team? But you're putting up 63 pts? Or averaging 27ppg/ 13rpg/ 3apg/ 4bpg/ 2spg, 55% FG and 80% FT over 6 yrs? I don't mention Wilt from his early yrs in the playoffs bcs he had no chance of winning, and didn't perfrom badly, still not great, oh actually in 61 vs the LITTLE guys his rpg dropped by FOUR! I do mention Wilt after 67 tho with GREAT teams

Russell shot 36% in 4 playoff runs! You just don't want to give up, because you're stubborn. He choked vs Wilt in 65 but won. All around game only matters in the playoffs. It's where it counts. You're all around game needs to shine in the playoffs. Otherwise it doesn't matter avg 50/50/10 in the reg if you want.

You say that playoff performance is all that matters. How about Finals performances? Now all of a sudden advancing in the playoffs is a player accomplishment and winning a title is a team accomplishment? Defense wins championships, and that's exactly why Russell won so many. So playing well in the playoffs is all that matters regardless of winning or not?

Because since you aim your criteria toward Jordan, I could aim my criteria toward something else. Russell was a better winner than Jordan. They named the Finals MVP after him, not Jordan. Russell, as you said, had an inferior team in the 1969 Finals vs Wilt Chamberlain, Jerry West and Elgin Baylor. He still won. There was always that desire to win. When Russell found out that the Lakers were planning a celebration party, he got really mad. He wanted to make sure that they won to ruin the plan.

Chamberlin is the best ever when Jordan averages 50.0 points in a season then he might compare to wilt. Jordan was good but not as dominant as wilt. It's unfrotunate that wilt was never really on a good team.
