The Caledonian Set danced at the Kilrush Fleadh Cheoil in 1967. Lots of famous musicians in the background including Junior Crehan,Michael Falsey,Jimmy Ward,Seamus Connolly and members of the Laichtín Naofa Ceili Band, which came from Miltown/Quilty area of west Clare. One can feel the excitement and atmosphere from watching this clip from so many years ago. I had the privilege of being there while this was being recorded.
Maids of Mt Kisco and George White's Favourite.
Slow down! Fookin' dancers. ;)
Who's on flute? Unusual instrument in that it has an ivory head, characteristic of German makers, but block mounted keys, which is more typically English.
Who's doing all that comping, too? Can't just be Michael's regulators, sounds just like the bass of a box. Tastefully left out of the shot, eh?
