Bulgaria: Kitka Bulgarski Narodni Pesni or Bouquet of Bulgarian Folk Songs (EDT Vocal Ensemble)

EDT Vocal Ensemble (now performing as Mila Vocal Ensemble: www.milavocalensemble.com) performs a bouquet of songs from Bulgaria that debuted as part of Ethnic Dance Theatre's 2001 Spring Concert Series Ballad of the Balkans.

The first song is entitled I suskala baba/Ime nema and is from the Sop region. It is a Bulgarian favorite in which the singers try to "out sing" each other as they yell at opposite sides of the stage.

The next song, Begala e Vena, is about a beautiful girl and a nightingale.
