Kat & Gail hit the road and visit Seattle Espresso Machine Co., creators of the Slayer commercial espresso machine. In this final installment, one of Slayer's founders, Eric, and one of its primary technical engineers, Dan, show us around their assembly line and show us the insides of the Slayer. Sam of Equal Exchange also talks to us about what he loves about the Slayer and why it's different than other machines he's used.

  • Thanks a lot for taping your field trip. Just enjoyed a coffee from a slayer here at campos in sydney, was great to see the actual place they build the machines! Greetings

  • @davdavdav123 Awesome! Love hearing stuff like this :) - Kat

  • Kinda surprised they only pulled one espresso the entire time, and just talked your ears off.

  • @infamousmonster They did pull more shots than that -- perhaps my editing is to blame? ;) - Kat

  • I don't know if you checked out the latest videos on CofeeGeek's website, specifically the recent event out in Houston, Texas but apparently they even have temperature profiling machines now. Rancilio has one out apparently if I'm not mistaken. I don't know though, it seems making good espresso continues to get more and more complicated...

  • @joeldamianicigan Yes, we played around with these Rancilio machines at SCAA, too. - Kat

  • @joeldamianicigan Unlikely they ever will, as far as we know -- they are focusing only on commercial applications. - Kat

  • The internals of this machine speaks for the craftsmanship. When will they make an affordable one for the home espresso enthusiast?

  • I hear you! - Kat

  • I believe I am in lust.
