Sorry it's been so long! I'm down to about 197/198 lbs. Not bad, considering I started at 210 lbs.
My spare tire is almost totally gone. There is just a line where a roll used to be. That may sound gross, but to a shrinking fat person, it's awesome!

  • I'm really excited about being under the 200 mark again..... thanks for the video

  • Congrats!

I know how you feel. It's a great feeling to get under that 200 mark.

  • Only buy healthy food! If junk isn't in the house you can't eat it.

Never go shopping hungry - less temptation.

Buy food that needs prepping and cooking - puts you off snacking - healthy & cheaper.

Take a healthy packed lunch to work, don't buy fast food - save money.

Muscle is heavier than fat (fat floats, muscle don't) exercise builds up muscle & puts weight on, but you will look and feel fitter. Don't expect miracles - Slow steady weight loss is better than starvation & binging

    All the best

  • I've been buying fresh fruit for snacks. I've been craving fruit, so I think my body has been needing vitamins. Fast food makes me ill.

I've been doing pretty good on changing the things I eat. I've been paying attention to how food makes me feel after I eat it. I stick with food that make me feel cleansed and nourished. I stay away from foods that make me feel sluggish and saturated. I find I eat a lot better if I listen to my body.

  • Keep it up. Think of the long term. There are lots of skinny 90 year old ladies - few fat 90 year old ladies. There comes a time that excess weight is more than inconvenient.

Oh I just wished I could take my own advice :-( There are even fewer fat 90 year old men.

Still, I have 32 years left to get skinny!! :-) And I do eat the right sort of food, just too much of it.

BTW my first comment was exactly 500 characters, that's why no name :-)

  • Yea, that's pretty much been my problem. I tend to eat too much. And I WAS eating some of the wrong foods. I'm working on it though.

My mother's side of the family tend to live well into their 90's even 100's, unless they pick up some kind of vice, then they die in their 60's. So I think I'll pick up a vice when I'm about 80. That way my kids don't have to change my diapers. lol

  • Thank you for the advice. I needed it. There are so many websites saying different things about weight loss. It's hard to know what is best. This sounds like a solid outline of what to do though. Thank you.

  • Every other day for 40 minutes= 10 warm up, 20-30 workout, 10 cool down. stay on your chosen menu for 5 days and eat regular on the 6th (yes, pasta, greasy burgers, whatever). It takes 5 days for your metabolism to slow. Regular food (within reasons - no 1/2 gallon of ice cream binges)will force your metabolism back up. It also puts your "splurge day" on a different day each week which helps keep you on you training.

    No "D" word, you're training.

    Good luck, my dear.

    Be Well

  • I've kinda fallen off the wagon. Not entirely, but I'm not walking the treadmill every day, like I was. My weight loss is going much slower. I haven't given up yet though. I have it in me to get to my goal by next summer. I think that's a healthy time goal to go for.

  • Berry smoothies with low fat (not non-fat) Yogurt and ice blended in. Still doing it here.

Was down 45 pounds, now back up 10 because of a knee injury. But that is on the mend and I'm starting to go for walks again.

You look fabulous. Five months. I'm impressed. Send me a message as I think I can sweeten the pot a bit.

    Be Well.
