An interesting detail is that 'Hymn to a Great City' was originally a piece for orchestra by Reinhold Gliere (part of his orchestral suite 'The Bronze Horseman'). It would play in the mornings and evenings on the Moscow Station in Leningrad, where people took the 'red arrow' train to Moscow. Of course, it was quite different from this piece, but you can clearly hear where Pärt quotes it.
Excellent interpretation, good synchronism, crystalline sound, thanks.
