i just got my hair cut this way too, and I LOVE IT! It works nice because i like the look of long hair from the front. From the side it looks trendy and yet professional. The back is nice because you have no hair to sit on your neck or shoulders, it is especially great if you like running or jogging - just clip up your front hair and go!
