Could this be with a telescopethat has a web cam attached and motor control of the axis of the telescope to scan the sky for planes, satellites, stars, and other objects to catalog the sky and the object in it each night?

@DLC Probably, but an infrared camera might be more effective. You just need to experiment with different options to find out what works best. RobotBASIC has commands to compare two pictures, which would allow the detection of motion as well as the ability to look for certain colors or shades of gray or shades of a color. Planes have lights that could easily be detected (I would think) and it seems reasonable that many objects would have a IR signature color. Good Luck!

@john30340 Thank you very much, I Was wondering where I could get plans to make my own Pupet/physical robot. like Frank in your video. I really enjoyed all that you have done. I started in amature robotics in 1985 witht he book: How to build your own self programming robot" and I will be trying to impliment the allogrythm from that old book using your programming system. @DLCToday Frank was built like a ventriloquist doll except using servo motors instead of strings. The old algorithms were not so great. Check out the book ROBOT PROGRAMMER'S BONANZA for lots of new algorithms using an array of sensors. Also we have a new book soon, HARDWARE INTERFACING WITH ROBOTBASIC.

The technolog used in THIS video can be used to recognize a face (by looking for flesh tones) but not tell one face from another.....

Not bad for 2008! Nice work. I've just finished my own color visual recognition module also. You can see a demo of it in my videos :) Keep up the work!

@john30340 I have purchased the Book ROBOT PROGRAMMER'S BONANZA, and have been reading it this week, I think it is great that you have built RobotBasic with all of the core function or header files created. We simply have to string togethere process and establish our alogrythm of what we want to do with out any of the previous expense of physically building an actual robot . The simulator it really great , Thanks again Hope your weekend is a great one.
