Idea of that vid came to my mind when listened for the first time Rory Gallagher. He performed 'Johnny B. Goode' at St. Wendel, Bosenbachstadion, 7/07/84. Great audience record. Unfortunately, there no video. And as my best favorite musician is Rory Gallagher and my best favor movie is 'Back To The Future' with pure genius actor Michael J.Fox, I tried to mix the Michael BTTF footage with a Rory track. Good or bad is it in the way you'll see..

Just one remark. I did try to show all my love to both great people of the world Rory and Michael through this little collage movie!

Criticism are welcome :)

  • Jimi Hendrix's version is far better than this one and if you don't agree you are simply wrong.

  • Ok, Hesmon. Hendrix is Jimi, Rory is Gallagher, Berry is Chuck. Come on, make your own JBG with Hendrix clip and share it for all.. go ahead.. :)

  • I'm not talking about the clip because it's beautiful. i'm just stating that Jimi's version is far better than every other version.

  • Unfortunately, I never heard Jimi's one.

While making the clip I had found only two JBG versions by Rory. First has very poor qualiy. Later, I've got more JBG from Rory, but it was later.

Anyway, I'd like to compare Jimi's one? Where I can get it? Is it on bootlegs?

  • How can you even compare Thorogood to Gallagher? I like George, but hey there is no comparison in talent between George and Rory.

Rory beat them all. Maybe you should look more in to his works.

  • boo. you killed the movie. rory sucks

  • BTW Rory is frickin' awesome, too.

  • I've been around a day or two, have seen Winters, SRV, Gibbons, Gallagher, Santana, Thorogood, Page, Blackmore, Clapton, King, Beck, Alvin Lee!!!, and who knows how many others. (Never got to see Hendrix)

There are a lot of BEST guitarists. My opinion is Jeff Beck rules!!! That man can make a guitar, make any sound he can think of, including music.

  • Well done! Rory was unique, a humble and honest RockGiant. I like Jimi, but Rory is my no.1!

  • 14 June 2011...............16yrs and counting.

Today and everyday Rory will be No.1

He is the ONLY reason why the guitar and electricity was invented.

"nice one Rory" indeed.....Still the best vid on Youtube!!!!

    Thanks RoryJim.

    R.I.P. Rory

  • @riastradh2 just type in Jimi Hendrix Johnny B Goode.

  • @riastradh2 Jimi was killed by his management which made him play too many gigs and when Jimi played a concert, people asked for the same songs and he wanted to play new stuff. Isle of Wight is just a bad concert. Jimi was the electric guitar, he didn't need to play mandolin. He played bass though on many of his studio songs from electric ladyland. Rory definately was under appreciated but that doesn't mean Jimi was over appreciated. Rory was a true original and should get more praise.

  • @hesmon Being bored out of your skull isn't a reason to play a bad gig and he hardly had much respect if he stayed up for 3 days and played a shitty gig for his fans,Rory was far more professional. No one is trying to say Jimi was shite, sound wise he was a trailblazer, but he's over appreciated and Rory is under appreciated thats fact I never saw jimi pull out a mandolin mid gig. Rory brought it with a clean sound but he always brought it. Provide a link for jimi's version if you got one

  • @riastradh2 Everybody blew Jimi away at the Isle of Wight because it was one Jimi's worst gigs. He was tired, hadn't slept in 3 days and was bored out of his skull. Jimi saying Rory was the best was typical of Jimi, he also said the same thing of Zappa once. It's called being modest and having respect. Of course he respected Rory and rightfully so. Jimi should be judged by his winterland, Royal Albert Hall and Berkeley performances, not The Isle of Wight. Check out Jimi's of Johnny B Goode!

  • @hesmon I haven't heard Jimi's version either but Rory blew Jimi off the stage at the isle of Wight Festival back when he was playing with Taste. even Jimi admitted to that, he had alot of respect for Rory. Of course there was also the famous incident when a reporter asked Jimi what it felt like to be the greatest guitar player in the world and he said "I don't know you'd have to ask Rory Gallagher"
