I need help fixing my Gaggia Espresso Maker. It may be a pressure problem (?) but the pump appears to be working. The steam wand is working. Any idea what's wrong with our most loved appliance? Any help is appreciated! :)

  • eisb0r,

Thanks for your comment. We were able to fix it; the group head was completely clogged. We did the 2nd part of what you said, carefully cleaning and then putting it all back together again. :)

  • the water pump is out of date and should be covered by warranty. check the date on the pump. don't get scammed!!! I've repaired this kind before.

  • @lwodke I'm glad i could help. Have fun with your Gaggia and enjoy your espresso! :)

  • Hi!

Your problem may not be a disconnected wire. The insides look exact the same as my Gaggia Evolution, so there is no electro-magnetic valve that opens and closes by turning on the pump.

You may disassemble the bottom part of the brew group (dispersion screen; dispersion plate; the valve (CAREFUL! theres a tiny spring with a rubber head! Don't lose it!!)) and clean it.

Or you may want to open the whole brew group and descale it.
