Main Street Electrical Parade - Walt Disney World 2000

In 1996, Disneyland advertised that The Main Street Electrical Parade was going to "Glow Away" forever. Fortunately, that turned out to be less than entirely true. While the parade hasn't returned to the original Disneyland Park, Disney sent the parade to NYC for the opening of the movie Hercules, and then it sent it to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World for the Millennium Celebration -- which is where this video was shot. Then, in 2001, when the newly opened Disney's California Adventure turned out to be less popular (by a lot!) than management thought it would be, they shipped this back to Disneyland to play in the new park across the esplanade. With projected over-crowding at the newly renamed Disney California Adventure in connection with the opening of Disney's World of Color, they again shipped this parade back to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World for Summer 2010. Disney extended the run beyond the end of the Summer, so I got a chance to see it again on September 13, 2010 -- in pretty much the same spot I recorded this video from on February 12, 2000.

Of course, there was also a second full version of the Main Street Electrical parade that had been created for Walt Disney World that eventually got sent to Paris Disneyland and if you visit my YouTube channel, you'll find that I posted video of it from January 1999.

Since Disney said the original was "Glowing Away" from Disneyland, I visited Disneyland, April 28, 1996, and that video is also on my YouTube channel (http://asdtubeU.asdhollywood.com).

@jdh2006 i do to. it seemed kinda odd how for the first 8 years of it's run at DSCA there were no changes made to it wheras at Disneyland at least up to 1989 there was ALWAYAS something being added or removed

I remember the turtle and snail from when I went to see this way back when. Scared the CRAP out of me because they twirled by me.

They changed it. Tink doesn't fly over the crowd, Dumbo does. The parade is led by Tink on her balloon. The dwarfs also don't walk, they're on a mining float and Pete rides on Elliot which is personally the only good change. I like the original music like the one I have from a cassette when I was little.
