http://www.facebook.com/pages/Score100goals/102072266502293---- Learn more hockey tips to help you out on the ice at the Score100goals facebook page. We look at hockey through a different perspective to benefit the player.

Here's another couple of exercises that you can use to really improve your shot speed. I know hockey is very expensive so you can basically put these training aids together for free and have at it.

Exercise 1--Wrist Rotations
1. Cut down a wooden dowel or a broken hockey stick to 18"-24"
2. Start with zero weight on the ...end and rotate the stick with you arm fully extended in a 180 degree motion.
3. Do the 180 degree rotation about 10 times. If it's too easy then tape some pucks at the end for weight.

Exercise 2--Rice Squeeze

1. Get an old paint bucket and dump a bag of rice into it.
2. Try to dig down to the bottom by squeezing as hard as you can and turning your wrist like you would when releasing the puck.
3. Start by doing this for 30 seconds and then keep increasing the time.

Thanks for your interest. I really appreciate it.

  • Great video man. We need more people like you spreading this knowledge. When I was younger youtube didnt exist and I had to learn many of these things just by trial and error.

  • @tylerdurdonxx Thanks again for the comment. I wish I could provide more for goaltenders but I don't know too much about the position. But believe me I am trying to learn as much as I can and will try to provide some guest videos.

  • oh and 1 more thing shud i work on both wrists or just my righer wrist (im right handed) im guessing both wrists are a must tho?

  • @purple0wnzx Yeah work on both of your wrists. One wrist/arm will be naturally stronger than the other so don't worry too much about that.

  • @TheMiddleCheek you were born

  • how did i get here

  • this mainly strengthens your forearm muscles, not as much your wrists.

  • strengthens your pronator teres + quadratus and your supinator. nothing else tbh

  • @MrSlasher80 ask spiderman

  • What kind of rice would be better for wrist strengthening? Uncle Bens, regular or just minute rice?

  • You enlightned me! I was thinking how to strenghten my wrists, but had no clue! Your training technique is exquisite and with easily available material! My kudos!

  • can i use sand instead of rice???

  • @babygotbach22

It might be a good idea to pay a visit to a "Sports MD" or "Sports Physician" or whatever they're called in english. They tend to think different and have different techniques than regular doctors that may help you get back to your prime. Good luck, hope you recover.

  • I am finishing a degree in piano performance and last year, I sprained my left wrist. It was never the same again, I cannot turn my wrist certain ways now or hold anything up either. I'm gonna try these and see if I get back to normal *fingers crossed*
